This is a photo diary of artist Paul Neale. It consists of an ongoing series of images based on his current concerns of image manipulation, the importance of line, the state of the world as seen through the media, advertising images as well as aspects of street photography.

On Reflection.
The sunny weather blues...been away from this blog for a while. Been exploring some different visual ideas, or slightly different anyway. Generally piddling around with photoshop, trying to update some skills. Sunny weather means outside with the masks. Child exploitation I guess. Inside means paper based shots, any spare piece of space I can wrestle away from the domestic realm or indeed integrate. Working post-studio is harder than it looks, but sometimes a studio can just be an uneccessary expense, just somewhere else to go. All my files are a mess and need backing up. What has interested me most recently is photographing black papers and black photocopies. There are really a lot of tonalities than can be brought out .I find myself thinking of Veja Cemmins' work as a result. Pretty much everything is of interest to me visually. I would describe this feeling as voracious. A general lack of stamina to see things through however, does mitigate things a bit. Still the art plan seems to be on course.
